Baby Birds!!!

One morning a few weeks ago, I opened my front door and saw a bird flying out of my hanging basket. Madison gave it to me for my birthday! So I looked inside and found 4 tiny, little, blue-speckled eggs! I brought everyone out to look at them and take a pic. A few days later we saw they had hatched!!! So dang cute!!!

Great 3-day weekend!!!

When I came home from work Friday, I was so surprised to find Mark, in the kitchen, cooking craw fish etouffe- he Googled a recipe, and it was the BEST I have ever had- he made garlic french bread and rice to go with it- also a bottle of red wine- and Mamu came over to enjoy it with us and she LOVED it. Mark announced we were having a Cajun Feast Weekend. How awesome that I have a CHEF in the house?!!! WOOHOO!!! And then Saturday we made crab-cakes(most delicious) , jambalaya(haven't tried it yet- I'm so full), and stuffed jalapenos! Sunday we worked on the yard and the house- trying to get all the laundry done while the kiddos are with Brad. And yesterday Mark made boiled shrimp and cocktail sauce- and we watched James Dean- the movie, and On Golden Pond (I've always wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I rented both thinking I would be bored to tears- but they were REALLY GOOD). What a dreamy holiday weekend- & I also want to thank Mark for serving our country as a Marine for 7 years- Thank you honey and Happy Memorial Day!!! I cherish you!
Must also add- Madison was awarded for academic achievement in her class last week- Honor Roll!!!! Way to go Maddie!!! We are so proud of you!!!! Cannot believe you are going into the 8th grade!!! We also sold 3 puppies- 2 left!!! So sad... Paige is graduating on Friday!!! Yippee!!! Going to be fun to get dressed up and watch her walk across the stage!! Very exciting!!! Way to go Paige!!! Hope everyone is happy and healthy- I love you ...

Time to sell our babies...

I had so much fun this past weekend!! Sunday my Dad and big brother Matt came to Bowie and we all went to lunch. (thanks Dad!) Matt brought his two little ones, Nathan and Ryleigh. We all went to the girls rodeo together, and Victoria got 3rd place in the ribbon-goat- first time to place that well in that event- and she placed in the flag-race!!! Sofie did awesome tying her goat, but didn't place- poor thing- she's competing with really big kids!! Maddie won the all-around (1st place again) that's 4 rodeos in a row she has won 1st place in- so what that means is even if she lost every event in the rodeo June 1st- she will still have enough points to go home with the saddle!!! We are so very excited about THAT!! Our puppies will be 6 wks old Friday- so we've place ads to sell them- they are so fun, playful, and cuddly- I guess the bottle-feeding made them very lovable and relaxed when we hold them. We've named them all- it's going to be really hard seeing them go- I have fallen in love with them.

Don't drink bottled water!!!

I just read an article on msn.com about bottled water and how it is more contaminated with harmful things than tap-water!!! I had no idea!! Even companies like Dasani & Fiji. We are also filling up our land-fills with the plastic- HUGE amounts- So this is my new passion to help save the planet this week- DON'T DRINK THE WATER!!!! Please pass this info around, I for one, will not be buying anymore- oh yea- and don't ever leave your bottle of water in your car- the heat releases BAD things into your water and then you drink it, and don't wash them in the dishwasher and re-use them- it does the same thing!!!
Love you!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I woke up to a clean house and coffee with my favorite creamer, yesterday! The little girls sang 2 songs in church- so adorable!!! They are just so full of JOY! They gave me potted pots that they painted, roses, Gerbera Daisies, portraits of me, beautiful cards, chocolates, wine (all my faves)! Mark cooked my favorite foods for lunch-as we watched Alvin & the Chipmunks!- steak kabobs with pearl onions, new potatoes, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers - YUMMY!!! And my favorite appetizer- stuffed jalapenos!!! (Thank you lover!!!) Mamu came over and ate with us- then we opened a bottle of wine from Brushy Creek, and everyone got a professional pedicure and all my girls got their fingers done too!!! Mamu & I gave each other sugar scrubs, massaged our legs/feet, and polished our tootsies with bright, happy, spring, pink shiny polish!!! And my favorite part of the day, at bedtime I got my neck/shoulder/face/scalp massage by a professional- my hubby! I fell asleep w/ a smile... My feet have been so neglected, I woke up this morning and the first thing I noticed was how soft my feet felt when they touched each other :) Thanks Mamu!!! I had a beautiful, happy, relaxed, love-filled day!! Yea, ME!

I should be medicated...

We are so BUSY!!! Chloe, my little Rat-Cha, has been sleeping in our bathroom about to bust! We helped her deliver 2 puppies early yesterday morning. They were her first litter, and when we got up at 3am to check on her, she had already delivered one, and it was dead. The next one was coming out and the placenta was as thick as a Ziploc plastic bag- no kidding! I had to break it for her- so I guess the first was was in the bag too long and suffocated!!! So sad- he looked just like her. She had another and was done. So we have 2 new, perfect teeny-tiny little Rat-Cha puppies- and her milk bags are hanging down to her ankles- and she is taking such good care of them. Our other pups are 4 wks old today, and yesterday I started feeding them soft puppy food- they GOBBLED it up!! We'll be selling them in 2 wks!
We had 3 games last night. V at 6, Mad at 6:30, Sofie at 7:15. We were running back and forth between the fields trying to catch all the excitement. These were our first official games, all suited up- new uniforms, new cleats- so FUN!!! Victoria was running home and decided to SLIDE - headfirst!! She played third base and chased a runner down to tag her out before she made it home!!! Sofie was hind-catcher for the first half- 1st-base the second half. She caught the ball thrown by the pitcher, and tagged a girl out on 1st!! She hit the ball twice and got to go around the bases!!! Madison played hind-catcher the whole game, and ROCKED!!! We won by 7 runs and Mad hit her 1st HOME RUN ever in her fast pitch league career!!! It was AMAZING!!! This morning was Mother's Day breakfast with Kindergarten. V sat me down at her desk and served me a muffin and O.J. She made a portrait of me on the computer and a gave me a potted flower that she planted and the pot was painted by her. Mamu & Gigee came too. We watched a slide-show of the whole year in kindergarten so far- I almost got choked up...almost! We have to do concession stand tonight, at the ball-field; Mark, Mamu, Madison and I will have to serve snow cones and snacks for 1.5 hrs. - my house is really suffering in the cleaning dept. but we sure are having lots of fun!!! Love to you all,
XOXOXOX
Amy

WE HAVE ASTHMA!!!!!!

Victoria has been sick since early March- mostly just a bad cough at night- was diagnosed with pneumonia and it just never seemed to completely go away. So Monday morning I heard her WHEEZING!!!! I got her in to see the doctor, and she was started on breathing treatments, not any better 24 hrs late, so back to the doctor- got a chest x-ray- it was clear, so she started on steroids, diagnosed with asthma... We've been giving her treatments every 2-4 hrs (around the clock- I'm so tired), and today she got to go back to school- had to take nebulizer to class with her to take treatments as needed. She had this problem for a few months when she was about 2, and I thought we were done with it. She's a good sport about doing them- she has a cute little dinosaur mask, and I just put her in the big chair, turn the TV up as loud as it will go, and she sits there and takes it like a big girl. She's missed a couple of ball practices, but she is doing better.
Sofie has really embraced her new position as hind catcher!!!! She learned from the best (thanks Madison)! I love watching her play- she is so serious!!! She hit a grand-slam in a scrimmage the other day, too!!!
Puppies are doing so good- still supplementing their feedings with puppy formula. Little Crystal just isn't making very much milk and they are 3 weeks old today. Big enough to start lapping the milk out of a dish I think- I am going to try when I get home- will save on time feeding them with a med dropper!!!

Love you
Amy
